Getting Started with HTRI Technology

New users of HTRI technology and those who need to know the latest updates in our methods and software will benefit from attending this short online seminar, covering

• an overview of HTRI Xchanger Suite, including typical exchanger geometry, process specifications, fluid properties, and analysis methods

• how to build an Xchanger Suite case and how to debug and interpret results

• highlights of HTRI research and other technical documentation

New Features in Xchanger Suite 5

Xchanger Suite 5 offers you even more functionality for designing, rating, and simulating heat exchangers. In this online seminar, you'll find out what's new as we demonstrate the differences between Version 4 and 5 using cases from our Technical Support files.

In addition to Xspe, the new spiral plate heat exchanger module, Xchanger Suite now offers

• a setting plan in Xist
• a flooded condenser report in Xist
• the option to add intermediate supports in the bundle entrance and exit regions to reduce vibration potential in Xist
• additional tube layout options in Xace

Version 5 also includes improved thermosiphon reboiler methods, modifications to air cooler heat transfer calculations, and updates to interfaces with process simulators and commercial property generators.

Xchanger Suite Interfaces with Process Simulators

Xchanger Suite contains a number of interfaces to physical property and process simulation software. Many new capabilities were added in Xchanger Suite 5. This session will discuss the various property interfaces available and provide demonstrations on how they are utilized. Information covered includes

• using the CAPE-OPEN thermo interface (new in 5)
• importing material streams from process flowsheets
• importing unit operations from process flowsheets
• embedding CAPE-OPEN unit operations in process flowsheets
• setting property options for CAPE-OPEN unit operations (new in 5)
• additional options in the property generator interface (new in 5)

The session includes recorded demos as well as several live demonstrations of the property interfaces built into Xchanger Suite.
